I know what you're wondering. How can you possibly see three provinces in a day? Well, you can't much.
The morning was a bit slow, as we slept in a little bit, did some laundry, etc. We spent about six hours in the car, going back over the Confederation Bridge, back across the Trans-Canada highway to Moncton (which is where we came up from when we came from Hopewell Rocks), and crossed over into Nova Scotia. The scenery was really starting to get spectacular - particularly once we got into Cape Breton. We had a few hours to kill once we got to North Sydney, so we went to the waterfront pier. We met a lady who had an iguana named Berkeley, saw a fishing boat fishing for lobster, and saw jellyfish near the ferry docks. We were going to go to one restaurant, but it was booked solid until a time that would not put us on the ferry until too late, so we went to a little local diner called Robena's family restaurant. They were one of those "all the locals go there" kinds of places, and their fish and chips was really good. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken was enjoyed by everyone else, despite it being a little over-dressed. We had a nice chat with the owner and one of the other staff there.
We made a mental note on the way into town that we really must try the "Lick a Chick" place that got all sorts of rave reviews, and lots of giggles from all five passengers. I mean, after driving through places like Big Bra D'Ors, and Little Bra D'Ors, anything even remotely off-colour was getting dangerous.
The ferry left at 10:30 pm, but we had to be there by 8:30, and found out that, the earlier you get your car on the boat, the earlier you can check into your cabin and everything else. We hit a bank machine to get some cash. A local lady noticed our Ontario plates, and noted from our hesitant turning into a parking lot that we might be lost. She actually followed us into the parking lot and asked if she could help us find where we were looking to go. :-)
The ferry was really impressive. We were on the 8th deck in a four-berth cabin. Sure, the rooms were so close together, they had more of a cupboard feel from the outside, they were surprisingly well-fitted on the inside. We even had a TV, hair dryer, and our own bathroom with a shower. The beds were small, but certainly comfortable enough.

Busy day!
